History

Designed by L.E.”Ted” Geary and built in 1928 by Lake Union Dry Dock in Seattle, WA, EMMELINE has always been in the Puget Sound region, and still retains her original name. In fact, EMMELINE is likely one of the most original Dream Boats in existence, having had no significant modifications to her structure or accommodations. This is borne out by looking at Geary’s design drawings, reduced copies of which are mounted on the partition opposite the galley stove. Ads shown here are from Pacific Motor Boat Magazine in 1928.
Of course there have been several owners over the years, the longest-running being Eddie Adams (30 years, from 1957 to 1987), and the current owners (going on 27 years from 1997 to 2024). A full list of her earlier owners is documented by Coast Guard records. Eddie’s reign was perhaps the most active, based in Bremerton, and participating in many yachting events such as Christmas parades, predicted log races, etc. Unlike some of her sisterships, Emmeline was spared from Naval service during WWII.
